UCLH CT Scanner Installation

This project involved a range of enabling works to prepare for the installation of a new CT scanner at UCLH, starting with the initial strip-out and enabling works, including necessary electrical upgrades. As part of the project, we installed new IPS panels and duct work to revamp the heating and cooling system, while also implementing a lead shielding solution to ensure the safety of radiographers during patient scans.

In addition to the primary scope of works, we completed passive fire stopping works on newly formed and existing penetrations to improve fire shielding. Throughout the project, we worked in a live clinical environment, with staff and patients occupying the space, and engaged with the head of the imaging department to agree on all works in advance through daily meetings.

Despite numerous design changes and an extremely tight programme, we remained flexible and committed to delivering the project on time. Our team ensured that the room was ready for the new CT scanner’s installation on delivery, meeting the client’s expectations and requirements.
