Andover Estate Youth Football Tournament

On Friday the 28th of July, Quinn London teamed up with local Islington training facilitators, Academy Football Club for children aged 7-13 years old.

Academy Football Club provide local children free football coaching with reputable leagues within Islington and Camden Borough.

The tournament was split into two groups for 7-10 years and 11-13 years old. All players had an opportunity to play against one another and even had a surprise visit from the Mayor of Islington to hand out trophies and awards – being recognised for their efforts really put a smile on their faces!

QLL have been working on Andover estate since 2021. The Corker Walk B2 project carried out works on the existing three storey block of residential accommodation and garages. The project involved refurbishing the existing ground floor residential units to incorporate the garages as a living space, providing six units (including two wheelchair accessible units), new bin/bike storage and rebuilding the two access stairs up to the existing first floor gallery access.

The football tournament was a great way to interact with the Andover community! The project team set up the football field for the day, Terry Andrews, the site manager on Andover was our photographer for the day and Devon Timms our Quantity Surveyor got involved in some refereeing. There was food, refreshments and an ice cream van which kept everyone hydrated and full of energy.

Thank you to out supply chain partners for their generous support in creating an everlasting event memorable – GSD Painting and decorating, Axe Roofing Ltd, MSS Steel Services, H&V Building Services and NG Builders Ltd.

It was a great success, and we look forward to hosting similar events in the future.
