This refurbishment of a Grade 11 listed building was carried out in the heart of Cambridge, surrounded by other residential and commercial properties.
The building had been vacant and left in disrepair for several years with may of the existing features in a very poor state.
The scheme involved the complete re-roofing and the replacement of existing lead valleys and flashings, the renewal of the Heating and Electrical installation, repairs and overhauling the existing sliding sash windows as well as extensive brick repairs, all to match the existing fabric of the building.
Internally, areas of damaged lath & plaster ceilings and lime plaster to the walls were carefully and removed and replaced to match the existing and the ornate fibrous plaster cornices and fireplaces in many of the rooms were carefully pieced in and repaired.
