This project with Southwark Borough Council involved the building of a new steel frame laboratory classroom. The external finish of the new build maintained the history and heritage of the school by replicating the residing buildings.

The new build classroom was connected to the existing school building with full height planar glazing, providing a flush glass surface and superior finish adding a modern twist to the traditional Victorian building.

All works were carried out in a live environment with a dedicated secure compound for all onsite materials and a logistic compound for delivery of materials. All deliveries were timed to ensure that they didn’t interrupt the day to day running of the school.

The classroom was finished to an exceptional standard with high spec furniture, non-corrosive Corian worktops for chemical experiments. Provisions for a brazing hearth and installation of 3 fixed and 1 moving fume cupboard.
The final piece of the project was the printing of a 3 storey periodic table that was fixed across the front of the glass planar.
