Graveney School has been shortlisted for a New London Architecture Awards
22 September, 2020
We are delighted that our project with Graveney School, the Observatory Block has been shortlisted in the learning category for the New London Awards 2020. Quinn London were employed to design and build the new sixth form extension at Graveney School. The new building links with the existing study centre via a three-storey staircase and features an observatory at roof level to encourage students to think about time and space.
On this project we created a large cantilevered walkway that surrounded the building at first floor level and also formed a balcony at second floor level with a spiral staircase linking the two. This steel structure was encapsulated in a powder coated mesh cladding system which provided an appealing design feature that contrasted with the timber finish.
We worked with architects Urban Projects Bureau, AA Projects, Michael Bartley Partnership and EDP Environmental to successfully deliver what we hope is an award winning project.
