Global School Takeover with the Young V&A Musuem
8 January, 2021
Quinn London participated in the Globe School Takeover (Inside Out) Day alongside the Learning & Engagement team from The Young V&A Museum.
Usually at this time of year children from Globe School would take over the museum for the day. However, as the museum is currently closed while we start the base build project, The Young V&A Museum took over the school, delivering sessions around the theme ‘Climate Emergency’.
Our Heritage Site Manager, Kieran Hoban, and Social Value Manager, Sizi Sibanda led 3 sessions for 60 students in years 5 & 6. The content of the session was adapted from Historic England’s lesson plan on ‘Stories in Stone - How do buildings adapt and change over time to reflect our rich and diverse heritage?’
The session helped to increase the children’s understanding of why we might want to keep a heritage building (or some parts of it) and why we might need to update other parts.
