UCLH CAT Scanner Installation
DATE: February 2021
Scope of works
This project involved the initial strip out and enabling works with electrical upgrades in preparation for the installation of a new CAT scanner for the UCLH.
On this project we installed new IPS panels and duct work for the revamped heating and cooling system. A lead shielding solution was installed to protect radiographers when scanning patients.
Outside the scope of works, we also completed passive fire stopping works to the newly formed penetrations and upgraded existing penetrations to improve the fire shielding.
Working in a live clinical environment with staff and patients in occupation throughout the contract. Stakeholder engagement with the head of the imaging department, all works agreed in advance with daily meetings.
Delivered to an extremely tight programme with a number of design changes. We remained flexible to the changes and ensured that the room was ready for the installation of the new CT scanner on delivery.
